As part of a continuous effort to expand services to our patients, we are moving under the national umbrella of FYZICAL® Therapy and Balance Centers and we have relocated to a newly designed clinic at 681 Portola Drive, just up the block from Mollie Stone's Market. We will also be updating our website.
Our mission is to provide you with results-oriented physical therapy, balance, and wellness services in a relaxed and caring environment. Founded in 1993, our clinic now offers four private treatment rooms and an airy gym with 12-foot ceilings for our rehabilitation, balance and fitness programs. We look forward to seeing you soon at our brand new clinic and providing you with the personal attention you deserve.
Integrated for Excellence...
West Portal Physical Therapy (WPPT) is the creation of Daniel James, P.T., a University of Pennsylvania-trained physical therapist with more than 20 years’ experience. He leads a team of six including another physical therapist, a physical therapy assistant, aides, and a NASM certified personal trainer. Although our clinic provides a full range of physical therapy services, we focus on spine care, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle rehabilitation. We also offer balance and fall risk screening as well as kinesio taping, which can provide pain relief, support, and faster recovery for injured and painful muscles.
In 2013, we introduced a medical fitness and wellness program designed to reduce risk factors for chronic disease and promote good health and a healthy lifestyle. Our affordable program offers an important alternative to the more traditional gym membership. An individualized, by-appointment, strength training and cardio program is developed for each client and is supervised by a personal trainer in a small group setting. Resting metabolic rate (RMR) and exercising metabolic rate (EMR) testing are also available.
New for 2014 was our "Quick Start" Nutrition and Weight Loss Program. Available to our Wellness Center clients, this plan is linked directly to your resting metabolic rate (RMR) for maximum efficiency. To achieve your weight loss goal while you are enrolled in your exercise program, we will measure your RMR and you will receive an initial assessment, a personalized eating plan, and weekly weigh-ins.
